Hi Glen.
Have just Google in on Graeme Rochers post here:
http://graemerocher.blogspot.com/2007/02/glen-smith-builds-feature-rich-grails.html
As the title says. Is there going to be a mention of Groogle?
How is this different from Shay Banon's Compass? (Other than the obvious Groovy version of Spring project).
Only Graeme's post doesn't link through to Groogle.

Hi JGF,

Groogle has been well and truly eclipsed by the incredible "Searchable" plugin (which is based directly on Compass). We give it a ton of coverage in the Web 2.0 Makeover chapter.

We even do fun stuff like implementing a google-like "speeling did you mean spelling?" feature.

Should be on the MEAP in a week or so,

Glen.

Hi Glen.
I've asked Kate Tegtmeyer if I can get on the reviewer's list.
So I'll look forward to reading what you have written..
Does Compass provide more than Hibernate Search too? Or are they entirely different in what they bring to the table?
I've seen this on the Manning list of books, but haven't had opportunity to investigate yet.

Hi Glen
I saw Graeme give a presentation at Skills Matter here in London this past weekend. In it he built a version of Twitter and incorporated Compass along with JMS in the process to flush the caches of other 'followers'. It was most impressive.
I think they are going to host a podcast of the event too:
See:

I was also lucky enough to win a copy of his new Definitive Guide 2nd edition in the process.
