The instructions on the web site for install of easygui are as follows:

Download EasyGUI, and unzip it in /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/site-packages/

however, this is incorrect. Unzipping this file give you a directory easygui86 or something like that. If you put that directory in the site-packages directory it does NOT work.

However, if you move the easygui.py file and place it directly in the site-packages directory, then everything is OK. Not sure if that is what you are supposed to do or not? As there are a ton other files in that directory that are then not available for the install.

There's no instructions on easygui web site either.

I had the same problem on my Mac. See my post below. However, you got it right. You have to move easygui.py out of the easygui86 (in my case it was easygui83) and put it directly in the site-packages directory. That's the only way it would work.

This path worked for me. I am using Snow Leopard. At first I placed the easygui.py on the same folder as the MacPython2.5 in the Application folder but it didn't work. But following the above path solved it for me.
