Linux active mq start script

I searched the downloaded file content. I could not find anything but activemq.bat for Windows to start active mq. I am running Linux CentOS and do not see any scripts to start active mq. I am simply trying to run example 3.3.2 with Don's Corrected instructions since the book is in error.
Any help would be appreciated.

I downloaded the binary version of activemq 4.1.2 , Extracted the gz/tar file, in the <activemq_4.1.2_installdir>/bin directory you can find the Linux/UNIX scripts that are complementary to the Windows .bat files. Perhaps the book should include these? Just a suggestion.
