Instead of gunzipping data files for plotting, is there a technique for filtering
the data within the gnuplot command file? In Perl, I use "gzip -dc file".

plot "< gunzip -c data.gz" u 1:2 w lp

More examples about calling other programs from Gnuplot are in the book in section 12.2.
